T7 Custom Waypoint

Post by cpadriver »

Team

Possibly not the most descriptive title (& early experience with FSiP).

PMDG 77F, P3DV453 ...... flew VHHH's ABBEY3A for RNAVZ07L with A/P LNAV/FPA, great.

Next arrival, beginning ANPOG FL360 to fly ELATO V522 ABBEY3A RNAV07L ..... after successful FSiP handover, could not engage VNAV so continued with A/P, LNAV/FPA & then on approach (2500', 180kts, flaps 15) gear would not lower & engage.

Tried again & found momentary sim "slew" toggle / FSiP off made for a successful gear down, touchdown.

In this, set FMC RJBB to VHHH direct ANPOG, Perf at FL360 before FSiP, then after FSiP handover, input balance of route.

Will keep "testing" but would appreciate comment.

Thanks
John

Hi John,

Please check video below, I've tried it without issue.
Are you following the same procedure?

Thanks for your video ...... more so because it was specific.

My sequence/s of setup both of the plane & FSiP were a "tad" different in so much my origin was RJBB & if I recall I didn't think it necessary to define the approach in FSiP, just the custom waypoint. & yes, I fiddled with the aircraft before FSip handover !!

I'll study the video beginning a few more times, then try again & report.

Hi John,

Yesterday I tried another flight with the 777 from a Snapshot at high altitude.
Coming on final, GEAR was not down. Down when looking outside, down with alternate mode but EICAS indication was in transit.

I'm not sure why as all systems were working normally, I will do some more flights and see if problem can be found.

It has been a while since the above. Did you perhaps solve/fix the issue from your tests.

Hi,

I'm looking for an alternative way to handle the gear when positioning the AC.
We had same issue on iFly 737 and I found a work around recently.

I will give it a try on the 777 to see if it fixes the issue.

I will let you know later today, I have put the task on my todo list this afternoon.

Ok, the 737 trick did not work on the 777.
I have tried something which seems to be working, please confirm on your side.

When the aircraft is released by FSiPanel, switch OFF all 8 HYD switches and turn them back ON, no delays between switches.

I did that and the gear went down normally during the approach.

Thanks, will give it a try ....... though it still confuses me why there are no issues beginning from a STAR entry, but is for a waypoint en-route.

& to mention, after viewing your video above, I notice you predominately use mouse clicks for switches etc. whereas my hardware uses payware fsuipc assignment of mostly PMDG's SDK Event ID's (plus pedal brakes being fsuipc direct assignment). Gear is activated by MCE command. Could any of these be a glitch for fsipanel ?

& to clarify ....... after FSiP release & before or after "brakes" takeover (?), switch all HYD's off & then all on or each individually off/on (?)
Cheers
