PMDG 737 NGX FMC setup

Post by surista » Tue Oct 15, 2019 2:12 pm

Hi - just purchased FSiPanel, looks very promising.
Download & install went fine. Was able to set up my aircraft (PMDG 737-800) with P3Dv4 with no problems.

Is there a tutorial on how to set up the FMC etc for the 737?
I'm trying to do the quick tutorial in the user manual, but having some issues.
I set up the airport (LSGG), Runway 23, 8nm quickset button.
Have P3D running, hit 'Move Aircraft'. Everything seems to load fine, everything initializes etc.
I get the 'set your FMC and when ready hold brakes to start flying' message.

So I assume I need to set up the ILS approach using the FMC etc, but...how?
The FMC has LFMN entered as DEP and ARR, using the 04R runway.
How can I set this up for LSGG, Runway 23?
If I try to set up LSGG, there's no runway 23 (there is a runway 22 tho).
Can't quite figure out how to set up the FMC - particularly if I wanted to set up STARs and such.

I just tried setting up a flight, landing at Vancouver Intl (CVYR), Runway 26R.
From 'Select Fix', I selected 'Star' -> Grizz4 -> Transition METOW.
Clicking Move Aircraft and trying to enter the info into the FMC suggested that the plane was 100 miles away from METOW.

Is there's a video tutorial on setting up the PMDG 737, would appreciate it

Hi,

To change your destination, proceed as follow for your example LSGG, 23 8NM

- Go to RTE page 1, type LSGG as destination (LSK1R)
- push EXEC
- go to DEP/ARR, select ILS 23, EXEC
- Now on your legs page, select the waypoint in front of your aircraft (check your Navigation display). In this particular case, it will be RW23.
- Make a direct to the next waypoint (RW23) and EXEC.

FMC is now set and missed approach is ready to be flown if required.

Cheers,

J-P
