Cannot complete installation on Windows 7

Post by dirac » Fri May 25, 2018 5:02 pm

I named the topic similar to another existing from LecLightning56 since I face a similar issue in windows 7 instead their w10. After replacing my motherboard I found FSiPanel was not launching, calling for FSiPanel requirements check. After trying to install Microsoft SQL local DB (which was already in) I was required to restart the computer. Once done, at FSiPanel launch same error again: call for DB resintall, computer restart...
I checked that .mdf, .ldf files are in %appdata% folder.

Trying uninstall and reinstall will not fix the issue.

Any suggestion, please?

Hi,

It looks like FSiPanel doesn't have access to the AppData folder.
Please open Explorer and type %appdata% and ENTER
Go to FSiPanel2017_P3D folder, do you see 4 files as below?
appdata.jpg
Cheers,

If the files are missing, please try to give access to FSiPanel or to turn off protected folders.

check "Allow specific apps to make changes to controlled folders"

Hi, thanks for your feedback. All 4 DB folders are in place. Regarding allowing apps to make changes, it applies to w10, so not sure how to deal with w7.

Ok.

Go to FSiPanel directory, EmptyDB directory.
You will find SQLLocalDB64.MSI, right click on the file and install it.

Confirm you're running on 64bit Win7?

Open a command prompt and type:
sqllocaldb versions [ENTER]
What do you see?

Hi again,

I do confirm Win7 is 64 bit.

When trying to install SQLLocalDB64.MSI it reports back it fails because a higher version already exists.
Installed SQL version in my computer are:

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 <11.00.3000.0>
Microsoft SQL Server 2014 <12.0.4100.1>

Ok, can you try to uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2012 from Windows control panel.
Restart your computer and then reinstall SQLLocalDB64.msi from FSiPanel/EmptyDB directory.

Do you still get the message higher version exists?

Done, same behaviour. I see different SQL 2012 version now:

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 <11.0.2318.0>
