P3D v4 View Group

Post by Jim Harnes » Fri Mar 27, 2020 6:52 pm

Haven't had a response to emails, so thought I'd post here.

J-P, is the current version of FSiPanel for P3D v4 compatible with P3D View Groups? I'm getting a frozen screen using the iFly 737NG (Cockpit Builders Edition and P3D View Group) and FSiPanel for the following approach:

LOWS RNP Y 33

Inserted a custom waypoint for starting the approach - W831, which is in the navdata - and FSiPanel positioned the aircraft well away from that waypoint as depicted on the ND then FSiPanel set ALT, HDG etc. then P3D froze and was unrecoverable.

Using the latest Navigaph date for the iFly 737NG and FsiPanel.

Hi Jim,

I have never tried View Groups, what does it change compared to a normal approach?

Cheers,

J-P

Hi J-P,

It's a capability to provide wide views. For example, I use a 30 degree view group for three curved moniters. Don't want to go into how that's done here. Can provide more info by email, if needed.

With my iFly 737NG Cockpit Builders Edition setup, only the view out the front is on the monitors. The gauges are placed on separate monitors on the MIP, along with the hardware. I set up FSiPanel using that forward view, so I'm wondering if that might be the issue.

There is also the issue of FSiPanel placing the aircraft well away from the waypoint, as I mentioned above.

Best,
Jim

Hi Jim,

I don't know about View Group, I need to look at it more in detail.
I have now added your iFly 747-8

Cheers,

J-P

Thanks, J-P!

I'll set up that approach with no view group and post back with results.

Best,
Jim

Hi J-P,

There may be no issue with FSiPanel and P3D v4 view groups. Will post back findings after more testing.

Best,
Jim
