FSIPanel not working with MD80

Hi,
I am not sure what has happened but I suddenly can't get the MD80 to work with FSiPanel in the Short Final mode.
I last used them both 2 weeks ago and it worked perfectly fine. The aircraft has not been updated but FSiPanel has since then.

After FSiPanel moves the aircraft and I press the brakes to take over, the aircraft stays stuck in HDG HOLD and ALT HOLD modes. I cannot engage ILS or VOR LOC modes even thought the ILS is correctly tuned and properly displayed on the HSI.

The aircraft seems to function fine in other situations such as vectors or even long final, I can get the ILS mode to engage, but on short final it the aircraft refuses to engage ILS mode and I have to disconnect the autopilot and fly entirely by hand. I have my short final distance set to 5NM and long final to 8NM.
Another situation I'm finding is that after the first approach whenever I load up for any subsequent approaches and the message to hold brakes for 3 seconds appears, when I press my brake pedals the brakes apply and immediately disengage again. Pressing the pedals does nothing and the aircraft remains stuck. I had to map another joystick button which releases the brakes fine. The pedals then work as expected on the ground after landing.

What I don't understand is that 2 weeks ago all modes worked perfectly fine with no issues at all. Now I am having all sorts of issues with the MD82, 83 and 88 versions.

Long final worked perfectly, except for the toe brakes not activating.
All other positions I tested worked perfectly as well (base, vectors).
The only position where I could not activate ILS mode at all was Short Final - and I know it was working 2 weeks ago because I did an hours plus of training in the MD80 back on May 6th using the Short Final position all the time.

Ok, how many miles final are you positioning? Maybe a MD80 limitation if too close?

I have Short Final set at 5NM and Long Final set at 8NM
