Having many issues with FSIPANEL and Fenix

Post by johnfry1 »

Up to this point it seemed like all was working as expected, but recently I am seeing issues when you try to retry an approach after the first attempt. I have seen where the aircraft goes into alpha floor, and never comes out of that state. The message does not show the hold brake for 3 seconds in this state and never does. I have also seen issues where autopilot will not enable.

Not sure if I am missing something you must do after you land on your first attempt then move AC again?

Hi,

After landing, nothing special to do, just make sure that trim is not all the way up or down and you are ready to go.
Always on the 2nd approach? Are you positioning on final ?

I'm noticing the same thing.. On my 2nd try I don't get the hold brake for 3 seconds message. It just starts. Everything else seems ok.

In your case I guess the parking brake was maybe still on?

Nope, the parking brake was not on. And, I'm extra careful not to touch anything in the cockpit until the hold brake message comes up. It is not a huge deal but does happen with some frequency on repeat flights. I'm going to see if reducing the Fenix MCDU typing speed helps.
